It is a Quality Management System (QMS) that is most widely used by most companies around the world today. This system helps companies to document clearly, in details, how to serve its customers. The whole process of the QMS centers on how the company does its work, correctly, to bring about a high level of consistent, professional service to its customers. It acts as a tool to continuously remind all its other stakeholders (meaning employees, and even suppliers), that they need to live up to its expectations, to deliver this high quality service.
The ISO 9001:2015 quality system centered among several important management systems, whereby some of the main qualities being emphasized as follow:
- Focusing on the Customer Requirements
- An approach to Standardizing Processes
- Continuous Improvement

Over the years, the ISO 9000 have evolved, where the main difference between the last system audit (ISO 9001:2008), and the current and new system (ISO 9001:2015), is primarily focus on several improved parts; including a conceptually adapted Plan, Do, Check and Act regime, and also have higher degree of emphasis on Risk Management as part of the Business Processes. It covered greater emphasis on the various risk aspects related to Health, Financial, Regulatory and Operational processes.Quality System in Habasit Far East
Habasit Far East embarked on the ISO 9000 journey since 1995, and have been awarded the ISO certificates every year since we started. And this journey have taken 24 years for Habasit Far East to reach what we have today, in 2019. (ISO 9001:2015).
The various changes of the ISO 9000 have been adapted into our system to ensure we are keeping up to the high standards that this international system required. And more importantly, to show to our customers that Habasit operates with a Quality System to ensure they get the kind of services that will help them in their operations.
ISO 9001:2015 is important for Habasit Far East because we follow the system’s intended processes. The system was implemented while we are getting the certification. It moved the people on a customer centric approach, and also focus on the internal processing of the belts. All steps of the processes are monitored, controlled, calibrated, and operated, as documented. This ensures the final outcome is as to expectation; a high quality reproduction of the results, every time, all the time.
At the same time, improvement to correct gaps in the system were highlighted in every audit, and thus proved to be a very important tool to keep the people and processes on its toes, and in line with international standards.
As the system moves forward, more technicians, engineers, and management staffs were trained in auditing of the ISO 9001 standards, and this again inadvertently, highlights the continuous effort by the management to inculcate the high quality mindset to the participating internal auditors. The more training given, the better it is for everyone to understand and keep the ISO system in a flux of improvement.
HFE current system is closely linked to the Global BPM (Business Processes Manual) initiated from Switzerland, and it forms part of the localized BPM of Habasit Far East.
The current team of ISO Management Committee consists of the Management Representative (MR), (who is the Operations Manager), and Business Development personnel, Logistics executive, Customer Care, and the Top Management. The diversified portfolio enables all views to be taken and from different perspectives of the operations and processes. Working as a team, allows each positions to understand clearly the roles and process of the others, thus building a greater understanding and bond among members of the team.
At the end of the day, the ISO systems will help regulate, optimize and push our performance, to serve our customers faster, better and with clear benefits to Habasit.
